Minimizing Age-Upon-Decisions in Bufferless System: Service Scheduling and Decision Interval

چکیده
The data freshness at decision epochs of time-sensitive applications, e.g., auto-driving vehicles and autonomous underwater robots, is jointly affected by the statistics update process process. This work considers an update-and-decision system with a Poisson-arrival bufferless queue, where updates are delivered processed for making decisions exponential or periodic intervals. We use age-upon-decisions (AuD) to characterize timeliness moments, missing probability specify whether useful decision-making. Our theoretical analyses 1) present average AuDs probabilities systems deterministic intervals under different service time distributions; 2) show that scheduling, achieves lower AuD smaller than uniformly distributed negative exponentially time; 3) prove periodical larger will eventually drop Poisson along increase rate; however, in system. numerical results simulations verify correctness our analyses, demonstrate outperform applying infinite buffer size.

Minimizing Service and Operation Costs of Periodic Scheduling (Extended Abstract)
We study the problem of scheduling activities of several types under the constraint that at most a xed number of activities can be scheduled in any single time-slot. Any given activity type is associated with a service cost and an operating cost that increases linearly with the number of time-slots since the last service of this type. The problem is to nd an optimal schedule that minimizes the ...
متن کاملScheduling Decision-Making Using Web Service
In this paper we make a contribution for scheduling problems solving through the web, by using web service. The XML-based modeling and communication is applied to the production scheduling activity. Therefore, scheduling concepts, like manufacturing problems and solving methods, including corresponding inputs and outputs are modeled using XML. This kind of data modeling is used for building our...
متن کاملMerit Based Scheduling in Asynchronous Bufferless Optical Packet Switched Networks
This paper describes how Merit Based Scheduling (MBS) can be used to increase the average throughput in an asynchronous bufferless Optical Packet Switched (OPS) network. Basically, MBS means that packets are forwarded based on its merit, which includes priority, number of resources taken, number of resources left etc. We show that using MBS increases the average throughput, but only in a limite...
متن کاملUnifiable scheduling and allocation for minimizing system cycle time
This paper describes a new scheduling and allocation algorithm which optimizes a datapath-controller system for clock cycle time. The cycle time of a VLSI system depends not only on the characteristics of the datapath and controller in isolation but also on the interactions between them. A datapath may impose both arrival time constraints on controller inputs and departure time constraints on c...
متن کاملMinimizing UG: Constraints upon Constraints
This paper questions the validity of various assumptions central to treatments of featural processes such as vowel and consonant harmony, namely that features are universal, that constraints are universal, that feature scales are universal, and so on. The paper begins with a discussion of various phonetic, phonological, and typological properties of distinctive features. It goes on to discuss v...
